The administration and operation of Saint Francis Xavier School is an element of the mission of Saint Francis Xavier Parish. In 1990, Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua entrusted the pastoral care of the parish to the Philadelphia Congregation of the Oratory of St. Phillip Neri. The Very Reverend Georges G. Thiers, C.O. is currently the Oratory Provost, while Reverend Paul C. Convery, C.O. serves as Parish Priest.
Dolores M. Butler, was appointed principal of Saint Francis Xavier School in 2003 at the time of the departure from the school of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, (IHM). At her appointment, she became the first lay person to serve as principal of Saint Francis Xavier in 134 years. Prior to being named principal, Ms. Butler, who holds a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Saint Joseph’s University and a Masters of Art in School Administration from Villanova University, taught in the Catholic School system for 30 years, including 25 years here at Saint Francis Xavier.
